On March 12, 2020, I made the very difficult, but right decision to pause practicing until it is safer.
As of right now, my practice is paused until at least July, or until it’s clearer how massage therapy professionals can best move forward safely. Massage therapists have a distinct depth of contact with people, so there’s lot more to consider for us. The risk is still too high and I care too much about your health and that of all my clients, and our loved ones.
My regulars know I change into fresh clothes before working with them, and never work in “street clothes”, and my sanitizing and hygiene procedures are impeccable, even before the coronavirus outbreak.
Even with that attention to detail, there is no proven safe, ethical, risk-free way for ANY hands-on professional to be practicing at this time, no matter what you might hear otherwise from someone else. I’ve earned 2 COVID-19 safety certifications so far, so you know I’m keeping on top of this to best serve you when it is ok to do so.
The most essential care I can provide for you right now is making sure I’m part of the solution and not the problem, and standing for your health and safety above all. And in the meantime, we can still help you feel better :)
For now, I’m offering movement-based therapies over video conferencing on a sliding donation basis.
We’re all feeling this, but once we’re out of this tunnel I know we’ll each have a new found deep appreciation for compassionate human connection and skilled touch. I never realized how much I could miss giving something that has always been second nature to me, because I’ve never had to miss it in this way.
More than ever I love what I do and am eager to share it again. I miss my people and I miss being able to communicate with others in my favorite non-verbal language. I miss being able to exchange a simple hug.
